The Select Choir is an audition-only vocal ensemble. Members are selected in the spring for the upcoming year. Students have traditionally taken private voice lessons or have outstanding vocal ability. Members possess an excellent work ethic and a strong personal desire to work hard as a member of the group. The members of Select Choir are the top vocalists at Yucca Valley High School.

In the Spring of 2018, the Select Choir traveled to Washington, D.C. to tour and perform in and around our nation’s capitol. Performance locations included: George Washington’s Mount Vernon, The Lincoln Memorial, and The United States Capitol Building. The ensemble also participated in clinics at George Mason University and James Madison University. Sightseeing and other activities included: The museums of the Smithsonian, World War I, World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam War Memorials, The White House, Library of Congress, The Supreme Court, The U.S. Capitol and more. The choir also attended a performance of “The Wiz” at historic Ford’s Theater.
